4 Star Gold luxury self-catering cottage near Bath
Prices start from £99/night
Less than 15 minutes from Bath city centre, located in the tiny hamlet of Tucking Mill, this luxury self-catering holiday cottage is ideal for holiday-makers who wish to combine a countryside escape with a city break in Bath. Nestled in the Midford Valley, the secluded hamlet takes its name from the mill which once stood on the site where ‘tucking’, a cleansing process for wool, was undertaken.
Newly renovated with elegant interiors finished to a high standard throughout, Tucking Mill View has been awarded a 4 Star Gold Award for Exceptional Accommodation and Welcome by Visit England.
The cottage has also been awarded the ‘Cyclist’s Welcome’ and ‘Walker’s Welcome’ awards, with cycle storage and facilities for drying clothes. There are many delightful country walks and cycle routes on your doorstep, including the newly opened tunnel route – Sustrans Route 24. Two excellent independent pubs are within a 15 minutes’ walk and both serve delicious home-cooked food at lunch and evening times.
The single-storey cottage has a spacious open plan living room, with two sofas surrounding an electric wood burning stove, a dining area for six and a fully equipped contemporary kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher.
On the same level, the beautifully appointed master bedroom features a luxury 1200 pocket sprung king-sized bed, dressed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. Comfortable and cosy, the bed guarantees you a good night’s sleep.
The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with towels provided for all guests. Tucking Mill View also benefits from free WiFi, iPod docking station, flat screen television and DVD player in the living room.
Outside, the private south facing terrace, equipped with a BBQ and table and chairs, overlooks the tranquil and wildlife-rich Midford Valley. Fly fishing on the Midford Brook can also be arranged on request.
Tucking Mill View’s unique location and its proximity to the city centre make it the perfect self-catering holiday cottage, whether you want to relax and unwind, explore the Somerset countryside or visit the many attractions on offer in Bath.
