4 Star Gold cottage in a haven of calm, near Bath
Prices start from £99/night
Originally built for the Somerset Canal workers in the late 1800s, Fishermen’s Retreat self-catering cottage is one of four artisan cottages which border the banks of the Midford Brook. Its secluded location in the tiny hamlet of Tucking Mill in the Midford Valley makes it the ideal place to relax and unwind, yet it is under 15 minutes’ drive from Bath city centre.
Settle into your home away from home
Awarded a rare 4 Star Gold rating by Visit England, the high quality self-catering accommodation at Fishermen’s Retreat has also been recognised with awards for welcoming cyclists and walkers with cycle storage and facilities for drying clothes. There are also many delightful countryside walks and cycle routes on your doorstep, including Sustrans Route 24. Two excellent independent pubs, both within 15 minutes’ walk, serve delicious home cooked food at lunchtime and in the evening.
We go the extra mile
Fishermen’s Retreat has recently been renovated to a high standard and combines stylish comfort with original features to create the perfect self-catering holiday cottage. With a welcoming living room, featuring a traditional wood burning stove, flat screen television, DVD player, iPod docking station and dining area for six, free WiFi and a fully equipped kitchen, Fishermen’s Retreat feels more like a home than a holiday cottage.
Your guaranteed good night’s sleep
On the first floor, the master bedroom has a king sized, luxury 1200 pocket sprung bed dressed with luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen. Further accommodation is available with a single bedroom on the first floor. The cottage also has a shower room on the first floor with towels provided for all guests.
While away the hours in your private garden
Fishermen’s Retreat benefits from a beautiful, mature, south facing private garden with a BBQ, outdoor dining area and an additional terraced area by the riverbank, making it ideal for outdoor and wildlife lovers. Fly fishing can also be arranged by request for those wishing to while away the hours by the babbling brook.
