4 Star Gold luxury self-catering cottage near Bath

Prices start from £99/night

Unashamedly romantic, Brooks’ View is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage just under 15 minutes’ drive from Bath city centre. Full of original charm and perfect for weekends away, honeymoons, mini moons or holidays in the Somerset countryside.

A romantic setting steeped in history

Dating from the late 1800s, Brooks’ View is one of four artisan cottages which were originally built for the Somerset Canal workers in the tiny hamlet of Tucking Mill. Located in the Midford Valley, it’s an ideal holiday let for short or long breaks whether you want to go sightseeing, explore the countryside or simply relax and unwind in glorious rural seclusion.

A stylish new look

Newly converted, Brooks’ View is the epitome of a romantic retreat with a decadent Victorian roll top claw bath, luxury king sized 1200 pocket sprung bed and a cosy living room featuring a traditional wood burning stove. On the ground floor of the cottage, the inviting living room benefits from sofa and throws, comfy chairs, flat screen television, DVD player, iPod docking station and dining area for four. The kitchen is fully equipped with the added convenience of both a washing machine and a dishwasher. The cottage also has free WiFi.

Your own private garden

Outside, the picturesque, mature, south-facing private garden leads you to the banks of the tranquil Midford and Horsecombe Brooks. The garden has a BBQ and outdoor dining area, perfect for relaxing and spotting local wildlife. Fly fishing can also be arranged by request for those wishing to while away the hours by the babbling brook.

Getting to and from Bath city centre

If you don’t have a car, the local taxi service will drive you into Bath city centre for under £15.00. The journey is no more than 15 minutes.

Once you’re all moved in and settled, why not consider taking the local bus route from the Hope & Anchor in Midford? It’s only a short ten minute walk along the beautiful Two Tunnels Greenway to the Hope & Anchor pub where you can take the frequent 267 service into Bath.

It is also a lovely route into Bath if you’re a keen cyclist, or an hour’s walk; if you need directions, maps are supplied in each of our cottages.
